Mawson served his apprenticeship to the Antarctic 1907-1909. He was knighted upon his return from the Australasian Antarctic Expedition in 1914. His primary interest in each of his explorations was to learned all he could of the Antarctic environment including his final voyages aboard the Bonzare in 1929-31. Illustrated with photographs.
