Northwest to Fortune. The Search of Western Man for Commercially Practical Route to the Far East.
by [Northwest Passage] Stefansson, Vilhjalmur.

Publisher Information:
George Allen & Urwin, London: 1960.

A Near Fine copy in a Very Good plus unclipped dust jacket with some light edge wear and a short closed tear to the front fold. Stefansson recounts the 'epoch-making achievement' of the U.S. Navy submarine--Nautilus-- in completing its voyage between the Eastern and Western Hemispheres beneath the Polar ice cap. For five hundred years, explorers, nations and companies has sought a sea route through a Northwest Passage for military and commercial purposes, but it would be a heroic undersea adventure that would secure the route.
