A Near Fine copy with previous owner name on flyleaf in a Fine dust jacket. Pierre Bonnard first discovered the exceptional light of the Cote d' Azur in the south of FranceHe was so captivated by the light that he visited every year until he bought a house there in 1939 and lived there permantly. He produced over two hundred paintings of the the region, some of them his best-loved masterpieces--The Nude in the Bath, The Studio with Mimosa and The Almond Tree in Bloom. Michel Terrasse, Bonnard's grand nephew, has written a vivd recollection of the painter accompanied by reproductions of related drawings and paintings--mostly in color. There are also 14 photographs of Bonnard by Henri Cartier-Bresson. Complete qith 130 illustrations, 77 in color.
