Hamnett was one of England's most talented artists and the legendary queen of the London and Paris art scene, particularly on the Left Bank in the 1920's. Her friendships and artist colleagues included the likes of Augustus John,Wyndham Lewis, the Sitwells, Nancy Cunard, members of the Bloomsbury group, and Constantin Brancusi.
