Miro and Mallorca.

New York: Rizzoli, 1986. First Printing of the First US Edition. A Fine copy in a Fine dust jacket. In October 1929 Miro married Majorance Pilar Juncosa in Palma, Mallorca. The two went to Paris and settled in an apartment on rue François Mouton. In the summer of 1939 he began a series of 23 paintings on small pieces of paper, later known as “Constellations”, which began in Normandy and ended in what would be his greatest place of inspiration, Mallorca. In 1956, Miró moved permanently to Palma and had his dream workshop. This momograph is a tribute to Miro and place that provided him much inspiration. It is lavishly illustrated with 354 works by Miro, 164 of them in color. Item #26413
