Sublette's historic race to the fur traders' rendezvous at Hams Fork in 1834. Also unique is Anderson's description of the founding of Fort Laramie, or Fort Williams as it was originally named. At the rendezvous, he recounts the key events of a year of crisis in the coalition of the various Rocky Mountains fur trade companies. Anderson's account also documents the evolution of place names and landmarks for the Oregon Trail. Item #27310
