Mansfield Centre: Lone Wolf Press, 2000. Facsimile Reprint Edition. A Fine tight copy of this Facsimile Edition of Jacob's 1859 volume in green cloth binding without dust jacket as issued. Gass is best remembered for his participation in the Lewis and Clark expedition. He was the expedition's last surviving member when he died at the age of 99 in 1870. He was important to the expedition because of his service as a carpenter, and he published the first journal of the expedition in 1807, seven years before the first publication based on Lewis and Clark's journals.
