In 1791, Vancouver led a small fleet to circumnavigate the globe, making contact with five continents. In addition to surveying much of the South Pacific, Vancouver ably supported by key officers including Peter Puget, Joseph Baker, Joseph Whidbey, also explored the Northwest Coast of America naming much of the region current to this day.
